I wish I had more time to write on ResQDogz. I’ve always got something to say about animals. Like how I HATE Nancy Grace and her inflamitory pit bull stories. Or show some movies I’ve found. But I’m so busy I can barely keep up with housework (or NOT keep up with housework if you ask Pete). The next two weeks I’ll slammed busy so I won’t be updating until after New Years.

As for Kristielicious…I’ve done some thinking and I’ve decided that it’s time to shut it down. Most of what I write about is animals and I can do that at ResQDogz. I don’t really need two blogs and I think this one has run its course. So…thanks for reading.

On Wednesday (I think) I got my laptop back. I got it home…and found that the battery wouldn’t charge more than 60%. Annoying but not earth shattering. What WAS earth shattering was that the new wireless card that was installed with my new motherboard (yes, the second one in a year) was bad. I couldn’t get online.

That’s just bullshit.

I went BACK to the store and explained what the problem was THIS time. And guess what they said. Yup. They’d have to send it back out.

Oh, hell no.

I asked to speak to the person in charge. Of course that person was out to lunch. They called some poor lower manager to deal with me. I wasn’t bitchy, I just said that it’s already been sent out four times. He tried to give me some song and dance about how he can’t exchange it because then he’s stuck with a computer he can’t do anything with. I asked him why I should be stuck with a computer that doesn’t work…he didn’t have a good answer, he kind of talked around the answer.

So then I asked him what the PCP was for…and I asked him to explain to me how it works. Which he did. He said “Well, see, before we can consider your computer a lemon we have to send it out four times to be fixed. I said “Um, it’s been out four times.”

Of course he couldn’t find 4 times in the computer. He argued with me, I argued back, and then I whipped out all of my service sheets and slapped them down on the counter one at a time. I said “One,” Bam! “Two” Bam! “Three” Bam! “Four” Bam!

He said “I didn’t see these…

So, he reluctantly decided to replace my HP.

Except they no longer carry the HP Media Center. Bastards.

I now have a Gateway Platinum Media Center. It’s OK…but my expansion base isn’t compatible with it. That ticks me off pretty bad, and I have to find my Office CD so I can reinstall Office or else I’ll have to buy it again. And even though they transferred my iTunes library over to the new computer I can’t import it into the iTunes program…so I guess I’m gonna have to reload it again. A pain in the ass, yes.

Then, earlier this week I decided that the Blazer just costs too much to drive. Especially with all the driving I do now. It gets 18 miles to the gallon and only gets about 220 miles to the tank (I don’t let it go all the way empty so it might get up to 245-250). That’s nowhere near enough.

So, I traded my beloved Blazer in for a Toyota Matrix. I almost cried, I love my Blazer. But, it’s getting to the point where I’m having to pay the car payment, plus maintenance, plus I’m filling it up 2-3 times per week at around $35 each time.

Yes, I was VERY upside-down. Blazers don’t hold their value AT ALL. I was only able to get half of what I owe on it. I did some dealing and wound up with payments that are $75 more per month than I was paying. That might seem steep but remember, I was paying more than that PER WEEK in fuel. The Matrix gets 30 miles to the gallon, 390 to the tank. That’s much more better.

It’s a cute car. I’m starting to like it more and more each time I drive it. I’m already just a little less sad about losing the Blazer. I’ve always wanted an SUV. It hurt to have to give it up.

So, those are the major changes for this week. It might not sound like much but in my world it’s almost everything.

It’s supposed to be a better machine.

I wouldn’t know because I CAN’T GET ONLINE WITH IT.

Why do I have this kind of luck?

Guess what I got back tonight. Go ahead…GUESS! If you’re guessing my laptop (after a frikking month and a half) you’d be right! Happy, happy, joy, joy, right?

The fucking thing WOULD. NOT. get online. I kept being told that my wireless connection was not available. I kept getting told to check my wireless switch. Where the hell is the wireless switch?

Evidently I found it because I’m typing this entry on the laptop. But now, since my eyes are grainey because I’m TIRED. I have to shut this down and go to bed.

UPDATE

OK. My fixed connection is now unfixed. Apparently my wireless router is VERY weak and my laptop can’t connect to it unless it’s sitting RIGHT. NEXT. TO. IT.

What’s the point of that?

This computer has been in this house for a year (not including the WEEKS it was out being “fixed”), sitting in the same place, and I’ve never had a problem getting online. I really don’t want to call someone to come fix this.

I’m so not happy.

You still suck. I’m not a happy camper and now everyone is going to know it.

My computer is an HP entertainment laptop with the digital tv tuning (which I have no idea how to use) and all that stuff. It’s last year’s model so it doesn’t have the built in web cam (not that I’d use that either) and it was one of the higher priced deals. It’s really not geeksquad’s fault that I got a lemon from HP…but it IS their fault that they’re not fixing it fast enough!

Grrr!!!

I gave you my laptop to fix at the end of October. You got her back to me on November 5. Unfortunately you gave her back to me STILL BROKEN. So I gave her right back to you. You’ve had my laptop for A. MONTH. I would like to have her back now, while I still remember all of my passwords.

I implore you to plug her in when she’s finally back from her trip to Geek Central in Kentucky. Because if I show up to pick her up and she’s STILL not fixed? I will throw the giantest temper tantrum you folks have ever seen.

Please let her come home soon. I do miss her terribly.

I packed my foods for today. I ate my breakfast, ate my snack, then ORDERED A MUSHROOM BURGER TO GO from Red Robin. It doesn’t count as crap food if you don’t actually eat it IN the establishment, does it?

I thought the girls had school tomorrow. They don’t. I swear this county gets more days off than any other county in the country. I’m back-to-back busy tomorrow and since the girls go to after school programs that means there’s no place to take them tomorrow morning while I’m running around like a lunatic. So…they’re going to my parent’s house to spend the night tonight. My parents live an hour away, we haven’t had dinner yet (it’s cooking), and I still have one more petsit to do tonight. I’ve got a long night ahead of me. But, at least they have someplace to go, otherwise they’d have to run around with me, and while they might think that’s fun at first, I’m sure they’ll get tired of it pretty quick.

After this week I only have two sets of dogs scheduled for next week. That’s not good for the old bank account. Hopefully some of these petsit people will use some of our regular services. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Oh, and the ex wants a reduction in child support. I see some court dates in my future. It’s really too bad, we’ve been able to avoid this type of thing for the past eight years.

Report cards came out today and both girls are doing really well in school. I’m really excited about how well Amie’s doing considering how much she resisted putting in a lot of effort in elementary school. She has two A+’s, one A, two B+’s, one B, and one C+. Amber still gets number grades and she’s working hard as well. Her teacher says she’s wonderful in her classroom and was actually hoping that Amber would be one of her students this year. She was a reading teacher when Amber was in first grade so they’ve worked together before. That made me feel really well, especially since I’ve still got a chip on my shoulder when it comes to the first grade teacher.

We’re celebrating Thanksgiving on Saturday in my family. Since my brother and sister both just got married they were trying to figure out how to see both sets of families on Thursday. The decision was made when I told everyone that I will be busy pet-sitting all day Thursday. My mom decided it would be easiest to just celebrate early. On Thursday the girls will come with me to feed animals, which they’re looking forward to. I’ll be taking care of a lot of cats and a couple of small purse-type dogs.

Now I’m heading off to bed.
